The ship has been thru several rebuildings: The biggest is a huge fire who cause a huge damage and the ship was rebuildet fro deck 2 and up.
It is the only passenger wessel that has transformed to and entire new wessel and complete unrecognicable.
The ship was build 1980 on wärtzila in Åbo in Finland: as the ferryViking saga for the company: Viking Line for the route: Stockholm -Helsinki together with the sister ship Viking song, later known as Fred Olsen Line`s Braemar now: Anna Karenina

Original...............................................................New

In 1986 the both ship was sold and replaced with new sips. Viking Saga was sold to Sally Line for 24 hours cruise from Helsinki to: No-where, Tallin, St. petersburg og Visby. and get the name: SALLY ALBATROSS

In 1988 the ship was rebuild on ? yards ni Finland and was addet a more cruise look exterior and the cardeck was replaced by cabins.

Her is the known fire at: Finnboda verftet in Stockholm i 1990. Then they decide to build an new ship on top of the old hull and machinery and they cut of the hull from deck 2 and up. Because it was cheaper than build a entire new ship.
It was transfered to: Nådendal in Finland there it was cut down to main deck (deck 2)
It was "keel haled" on Rauma yards in Finland sept 1990, and it was considered as a newbuilding.

Her has the: "Sally Eurocruiser" been sea born after the rebuilding in Finland i 25/7 -1991.The rebuils cost about 600 mill. FIM.
It was buildet with 550 cabins. for 1400 pass. og 200 crew.
L= 159 m B= 25,2 m D= 5,6 m G tonn= 25076.

Her is the ship in its new design design, and it was wery stylish.
And it was the only ship wiht a Yacht like appearence. The spip was still sailing as the: Sally Albatross, and it was chartret for sponsorship for Swedwen under Olympic Games in Barcelona in -juni 92

I -95 the ship was in another accidence when it was groundet in the Baltic sea, and the engine room was flooded. Then the: Silja Line (Effjohn) Which by that time had taken over the: Sally line that they would charter the ship out. So then the ship was rebuilded for Caribbean cruising at: Inma in Italy in 1995.
It was added 4 more lifeboats, the glass roof over the pool was removed and it was also intalled a jacuzzi on the aft deck:5. and the ship had a generall upgrade. It was heavyer = 25611 G tonn. D= 6m and redused to 1200 pass. and raised 400 crew.
And it was chartered from Silja Line (Effjohn) to Norwegian Cruise Line and get the name: m/s Leeward. (Picture to the right at the top)

NCL was in 2000 sold to Star Cruises which is a asian ship company and Leeward get a new name: Superstar Taurus and was put into cruises from Japan

This is a deck plan of the Tauris but it is the same as on Leeward.

Whith the blue I had my own cabin in the "Norwegian Aveny"
by the black dot was the crew bar crew baren (open for party almost every night and so it was)
by the red dot we had the officers deck wher we had schrimp part every second sunday.
whith the yellow dot it was the officers mess

1.1 -02 Now the ship is returned to Silja Line one year befor the contract time, beqause of low income/running expenses I quess. And Silja Line is demanting that NCL should pay them 7 mill € beqaus of the ships bad condition...
14"-02 The Star Taurus arriving Copenhagen for bunkring, and departing to Nadendal - Finland for repairments befor it enter service in late Juni as the: Silja Opera for baltic sea cruising as earlier.
